Great online marketing management by two modern art museums.
The story I´m about to explain has to do with personal and online experiencies I´ve just had with two top modern art museums.
After visiting (three weeks ago) one of the most interesting modern art museums I´ve ever been in, Museo Fundación Jorge Oteiza, I wrote an article about it and Oteiza´s abstract scultpure, and sent it by email to the museum.
Two days after, Juan Pablo Huércanos, the Museum´s assistant manager and head of the online communication department, got back to me saying they had shared the blog post on their social media channels.
During the couple of weeks we were in touch by email, we had a more than interesting conversation about Oteiza, online marketing, and the museum´s principles and statements. The whole thing added great value to my understanding of what this splendid museum aspires to do.
He did also joint the conversation here at yasoypintor and shared his thoughts about the article, while inviting all yasoypintor readers to visit the museum.
Parallel to this experience, I visited another spectacular exhibition at Fundación Antoni Tapies in Barcelona. Again I wrote an article about the Tapies exhibition and sent it to them. By the way, if you are in Barcelona and to visit Fundación Tapies and five best other contemporary art museums click here to profit this excellent 5 Barcelona museums ticket discount I´ve found for you.
One day after I got and email from the museum´s communication department thanking me for the article, telling it had been shared on Fundacion Tapies blog, and offering me two free tickets to visit the exibition again (which I did the following saturday ´cose it was worth a closer inspiring look).
Both examples show the benefits of properly using online marketing (in this case blogging, email and social media) together with a clear understanding of peer to peer communication and relationship management. These are powerful tools that when accurately used will engage museum fans and visitors which in turn will imply more notoriety as well as visitors.
Thanks Museo Jorge Oteiza and Fundación Antoni Tapies for your kind gestures, and you yasoypintor reader not forget visiting both unique modern art museums when ever you get to Pamplona or Barcelona.
ps: subscribe to this blog to be udated on upcoming abstract art news, and/or follow it on facebook or google + to be also updated.

Interesante. Me pregunto si los museos / instituciones culturales en Bogotá tienen el mismo nivel de responsividad frente a este tipo de inicitativas independientes. Intentaré y te comento si tengo algún tipo de respuesta positiva. Gracias por este post.
