My new abstract art paintings

The below abstract art pictures are examples of my new abstract paintings. Some say they see figures, others see abstract landscapes. What do you see? What do you feel?

In each abstract painting, do you see the tension in the knot, in the center, or at the ends? Do you see the different planes that appear on the surface of the wood?. Do you see the shadows in the background?. You see the contrast of the colors used?

A very good friend of mine says that these modern abstract paintings are intersections. They look like what I paint before but this time the intersection is more specific and focused. It is more clear and obvious.

To me, this is only the beginning of a change. This is an evolution. These new abstract paintings, this new art is more material and more captivating and mysterious.

What is my process? Some wood panels I encounter them on the street. Once at home, I begin to sort the strings (of hemp) around the wood. The process, depending on the shape of the panel can be hard and sometimes it takes a long time. I keep looking for different shapes until  I finally get to see the one that perfectly represents what I want to convey. There it is!

Once the string is perfectly tied around the pannel , I leave the piece at home for sometime and change it´s position every day. This way, the still not finished paiting begins a dialogue with me. It is from that moment on that if the dialogue is strong and constant, then this means that the work functions. Estas son mis nuevas pinturas abstractas. Algunos dicen que no son abstractas porque ven figuras, otros se preguntan si son paisajes abstractos. ¿Qué ves? ¿Qué sientes tú?

En cada cuadro, ¿ves la tensión en los nudos, en el centro, en los extremos? ¿Ves los diferentes planos que aparecen sobre la superficie de la madera?. ¿Ves las sombras en el fondo?. ¿Ves el contraste de los colores utilizados?

Un muy buen amigo mío, dice que estas pinturas son  intersecciones. Se parecen a los que solía hacer antes pero esta vez la intersección está más concreta y focalizada. Es más claro y evidente.

Para mí, esto es sólo el comienzo de un cambio . Se trata de una evolución. Estas nuevas pinturas, este nuevo arte es más material, más cautivador y misterioso.

¿Cuál es mi proceso? Algunos de los paneles de madera  los encuentro en la calle. Una vez en casa, empiezo a colocar y tensar las cuerdas (de cáñamo) alrededor de la madera. El proceso, dependiendo de la forma de la madera puede ser duro y a veces toma mucho tiempo (tira, afloja, haz, deshaz, prueba, tensa, destensa…) Sigo buscando diferentes figuras hasta que por fin consigo ver la que representa a la perfección lo que quiero transmitir. Ahí está!

Una vez que la cuerda está perfectamente atada alrededor de la madera, dejo la pieza por casa un tiempo y cada día cambio su posición e incluso cambio su horientación. De esta forma, al final la obra y yo iniciamos un diálogo. Es a partir de ese momento que si el diálogo es fuerte y constante, entonces esto significa que la obra (la composición) funciona. A continuación…. aparecen los colores.
